Court Orders Disclosure of Fake Talent Accounts: Nearly Half Originate from Bangladesh - STARTO Secures Information Disclosure in U.S. Court

Court Orders Disclosure of Fake Talent Accounts: Nearly Half Originate from Bangladesh - STARTO Secures Information Disclosure in U.S. Court

2025年08月20日 23:02
STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, which represents popular idols and was formerly associated with the Johnny's group, announced on August 13, 2025, that a U.S. federal court in the Northern District of California has issued a disclosure order to X (formerly Twitter) regarding 73 fake accounts impersonating their talents and groups. Of the 36 orders issued in May, 21 were traced back to Bangladesh, and it has been determined that at least 35 of the fake accounts originated from the same country. These fake accounts have been found to lure users to phishing sites under the guise of "free live streaming," stealing credit card information and other data. STARTO ENTERTAINMENT plans to discuss enforcement requests with the authorities in Bangladesh through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and intends to identify and pursue domestic cases as well. To prevent further damage, they have established a legal contact point on X, "STARTO ENTERTAINMENT (Legal)" (@STARTO_legal), to enhance awareness and information sharing. The key to combating cross-border impersonation includes utilizing disclosure orders in the U.S., collaborating through diplomatic channels, and encouraging fans to practice security measures.
