"The Era of 'No More Tab Hopping': ChatGPT with Spotify/Canva/Zillow... A New Age of 'Conversation-Complete'"

2025年10月08日 00:37
OpenAI has announced "Apps in ChatGPT," allowing "apps" like Spotify, Canva, Zillow, Booking.com, Coursera, Expedia, and Figma to operate directly within ChatGPT's chat interface. Users can interact with these apps by saying things like "Spotify, create a lively playlist for my commute," and after linking their accounts for the first time, they can continue to use these apps through "interactive cards" that maintain the context of the conversation, displaying results such as playlists, maps, or slides. This feature is being rolled out to all logged-in users (Free/Go/Plus/Pro) except those in the EU. For developers, an Apps SDK (an open standard compliant with MCP) is available in preview, with a directory and monetization details expected later this year. On social media, some are welcoming this as a "game-changing update accelerating the OS transformation," while others express concerns about permissions, data sharing, enclosure, and the emergence of fake apps.
