However, in health information, "specific numbers" and "reliable evidence" are not the same. The original article does not provide sufficient information to trace back to the original study, such as the paper title, journal, DOI, or trial registration number for this 2026 study. Even at the time of publication, the original study could not be independently verified. Therefore, this article treats the "109 people, 2 grams, 8 weeks" as a claim reported in the media, distinguishing it from established medical facts.


Different studies are actually mixed within a single article

The original article also introduces a computer analysis examining the binding of mushroom-derived components to enzymes related to Alzheimer's disease. It predicted the binding of 21 compounds to acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase, highlighting ergosterol peroxide and ergosterol as promising.
