"AI Enhancement: Good or Bad? The Door to Video Remastering Opened by YouTube - YouTube Introduces New Technology to Clarify Low-Resolution Videos"

2025年10月31日 00:27
YouTube is rolling out "Super Resolution," an AI-driven feature that automatically enhances low-resolution videos uploaded for TV viewing to high definition. Initially, it will upgrade videos below 1080p (ranging from 240p to 720p) to HD, with plans to consider 4K in the future. Viewers can switch back to the original resolution in settings, and creators have the option to opt out, with the original files being retained. Additionally, the thumbnail size limit is being expanded from 2MB to 50MB to enhance appeal on TV. On social media, there are mixed reactions, with some welcoming the thumbnail enhancement and others expressing concerns about the potential loss of artistic integrity.
